City
of Flagstaff Water Commission meeting on reclaimed water. New
studies from the USGS are being revealed about the presence of pharmaceuticals,

3/23/2004 - The Hopi Cultural Preservation Office is
sponsoring a "Hopi/Tewa SAVE THE PEAKS Coalition" public march

artificial snowmaking through the use of recycled wastewater at the
Snow Bowl. Since 1979, the Hopi people and the Hopi Tribal Council
has been adamantly opposed to the continued development and expansion
of the Snowbowl.
The use of wastewater to make artificial snow is considered desecration
of Nuvatukyaovi, "The place of the snow on the peaks"; considered
the spiritual home of the Katsinam.
The march
